Energy and Environmental Technology (EET)
Arnhem is a major player when it comes to developments in the
field of Energy and Environmental Technology (EET), which plays an
important role within the various branches in and around Arnhem.
The town council pursues an active policy and has made a covenant
with various organisations to continue presenting Arnhem as an
Energy Town in the coming years. Energy Made in Arnhem. Energy is
also an important subject to the Dutch government and trade and
industry.
Stichting kiEMT (knowledge and innovation in Energy and
Environmental Technology) plays a major role in the promotion of
transfer of knowledge in the Arnhem Nijmegen region, just like
companies and organisations such as KEMA, Alliander, Akzo Nobel,
Essent and HAN, all major players in the field of EET and also
great ambassadors.
A study into the possibilities of Arnhem as an EET congress
town, conducted by the Concention Bureau in 2010, has shown that
this branch has a great deal of potential. Corporate companies and
associations prefer destinations in areas, towns and regions
outside the Randstad in the west of the Netherlands. Of course the
image of the town or region is of paramount importance, influencing
the number of congresses organised in the area.
As well as companies already established here, the knowledge and
development in the field of EET also provides opportunities for new
companies, which can set up in and around Arnhem, grow and transfer
knowledge by means of seminars, congresses and
symposiums.
