Promotion in Belgium
The Belgian business market has shown a growing interest in
organising business meetings and corporate functions in the
Netherlands. A recent study by the CBS has shown that the
number of Belgians booking accommodation in the Netherlands for
business or pleasure has doubled over the past decade - from 0.7
million to 1.3 million in 2010.
Convention Bureau regio Arnhem Nijmegen responds to this trend in
association with the Nederlands Bureau voor Toerisme en Congressen
(NBTC) in Brussels. A joint promotional plan has been drawn up,
part of which is an annual Fam trip for Belgian meeting planners
and journalists, embassy lunches in Antwerp and Brussels, entry in
the NBTC's B2B newsletter, sales visits and participation in
events.
Promotion in Germany
Following the successful promotion in Belgium the feasibility of
drawing up a similar plan for promotion in Germany is being looked
into. Follow-up action will be based on the results.
